I think Peter Pan's Flight is the most difficult attraction to photograph in all of Walt Disney World. It's become my white whale. Since my camera is only capable of ISO 1600 (if I want the shot to look halfway decent), even at f/1.4, I have a hard time getting any good shots. In fact, this is the only one I've ever gotten that turned out halfway decent: I know some of you are using cameras capable of a decent shot at ISO 6400, so I'm curious as to what kind of success you guys have had. (Jeff_B posted a really good shot of the London skyline scene on Flickr a few weeks ago taken with his 5D, so I'm betting others here have some good ones).
The last time I rode this I was shooting with the Zeiss 50, so most didn't come out since I couldn't keep up with the ride speed by MF.
Nice shot Roger! I have the hardest time getting shots on the classic Disney dark rides - Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Peter Pan, etc.
What, this ride is still your white whale? Look, what you need to do is rent the 50/1.2 and take your bad boy on it. And then have fun.
i am gonna give it another shot tomorrow. last time i was there my 50 f/1.4 took a dump (focus ring cinched up) and had to be sent in for repair.
Yeah that micro USM can be a bummer. It's all good, my 50/1.4D decided to stop AF last June, but a trip to service fixed it up.
