WEDNESDAY 12/5/12, 6:30 PM, meet at trails end for the traditional pre-pixelmania feed the tapeworm, followed by some camping loop christmas extravaganza

    THURSDAY 12/6/12 MAGIC KINGDOM

10:00 intro meet on the sidewalk, along the hedge on the magic kingdom side of the bus stop area, walk to the contemporary where tim devine does a short talk about how to shoot lobby displays, lighting oddities and focal lengths etc.

11:00 - 1:00 tim time, boat to ft wilderness for their impressive lobby tree, boat back to contemporary, then using the resort loop monorail to visit and photo the polynesian & grand floridian christmas lobby displays, returning eventually to the magic kingdom

3:00 pm some sort of a magic kingdom meet, perhaps tommorrowland technique

4:30 pm wristband meet for mcvmcp, site TBA

    FRIDAY 12/7/12 EPCOT/CRESCENT LAKE

12:00 pm first meet of the day, note the later time to allow late party folk the chance to sleep in, place TBA

3:00pm christmas storytellers walk, NOT a tim time production, a reasonably active paced walk around world showcase to catch as many of the storytellers as schedule and interest allow, priorities given to germany, france and uk as these are the closest to our own traditions

7:00 pm meet in front of the boardwalk bakery for evening warm coffee if weather dictates, boardwalk lobby, swan and dolphin on the quick, to allow plenty of time for the masterpiece at the yacht club lobby, followed by the beach club lobby, with an anticipated 9:30 ish beaches and cream for the kitchen sink(s) figure 1 sink per 6-7 persons. you will note illuminations is not on this years schedule at this time, the planning board is seeking to provide some new variety in the meets, not to say that illuminations cannot return in 2013

    SATURDAY, 12/8/12 HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS DAY

10:00 astute observers will note the pattern here of a little more relaxed pace and a little more sleep time. meet in front of beauty & the beast on sunset, for a little t-mip staff tutorial on how to shoot the very rose' colored lighting, followed by the first showing, this is a time sensitive meet and could involve killing time over coffee waiting for the theater to open, in an attempt to score serious upfront seats

post show muppet meet, TBA, dependent on B&B show times

afternoon meet, perhaps indy, perhaps LMA, perhaps great movie ride, attendee demand and tim's connections will determine this part

osborne lights meet, i know it's a weekend but this can be done fairly late, thus the more relaxed pace today so we have energy left to do this as needed/ alternate is to do osborne lights as soon as darkness falls followed by yeehaw bob, yeehaw bob depends on his performance schedule and could possibly be moved to friday night, post beaches & cream

    SUNDAY 12/9/11, ANIMAL KINGDOM

9:00 meet in front of kilimanjaro safari ride for a group safari

festival of the lion king, time to be announced, depending on other show times such as nemo and group wishes, as i know some folk will probably have to head airport bound in the afternoon

3:45 this usually the jingle jamming jungle parade, something a little different as a group, maybe meet near safari entrance so as to ride the last safari of the day, maybe catch them putting the animatronic lions in for the night

this is only a tentative schedule outline, there will be a seperate thread for additional meet suggestions and fine tuning, this will be modified into the final schedule as time nears, hopefully by 9/1/12

and expect some sort of efforts to organize a begin at the end fort wilderness decorations meet, for anyone who hasn't seen the camping loops in christmas decoration, all i can say is, it's worth it

We could do Ft. Wilderness on Wednesday night like last year. ; At this early time, the plan as stated looks very good.

Great tentative plan. ; Just a couple of things though...

For Yeeha Bob, the show starts typically at 8:30pm. ; He might be doing his Christmas show by this time as well (not 100% sure how far before he starts). ; Depending on how many TMIPers are going, we might want to send a couple of us ahead to grab decent tables.

I thought my Classmate (Who is a Travel Agent) stated that the Jammin' Jungle Parade is changing the route soon (if not already). ; So where it used to be nice to shoot from the Dawa Bar wall to get both sides of the parade. ; I guess they decided this creates too much of a problem for folks wanting to ride the safari late in the day. ; It sounds like the parade will start in Africa by the safari, reverse route through Asia and Dinoland, then end at the gates just past Camp Minnie-Mickey. ; Bad if you want to shoot both sides, good if you want to safari.

well all this good information is why i wanted to get ; the planning in gear early. i want the event to keep getting better and better. i feel strongly that one of the ways to do that is to involve as many of the attendees as early and deeply as possible. nothing is set yet, days and meets all subject to change, so keep those ideas coming. for instance, now in 2010 the last safari had a lot of animal action, including some of the most lion movement ever spotted, i understand this years late safari was a dud, so do we want to give the late safari one last chance, and if it's dead this year remove it from the traditions, or maybe folks want something else to close out that day, for example if enough pixelmaniacs are staying into monday, maybe move the crescent lake to sunday and start earlier, leaving the sat night free for yeehaw bob, a meet that i wholeheartedly endorse now that i've seen him. if we do that , i'm going to make an adr for bonfamille's timed to finish around showtime, i like cajun food and it's right next to bob's performance

How about a candlelight processional meet? ; Dinner and show to secure guaranteed seats?

I like this idea a lot! ; Maybe a lunch in World Showcase and then the early show so we could still be off to Boardwalk/Beach Club with enough time?

whoa, be still my beating heart, tim suggesting paying out bucks for a dinner? this is of biblical proportions, i tell you, cats & dogs etc.

but all kidding aside, that's an excellent idea, i'd go for that, this years seat was only available because the temp dropped from 82 to 62 in about 1 hour due to a cold/rain front, that's the first time in 4 years i've been able to walk into the candlelight and get any seat let alone a good one, when i was traveling through epcot a couple days later, people were lining up at 2:30 for the 5:00 show, about 65 of them already at that early timem so i really believe the only way we will get seats is to do the dinner package

I'd be up for that too. ; I got some great shots a couple of years ago doing just that. ; FYI, if you schedule dinner for around 6-6:30 at Teppan Edo/Tokyo Dining you walk out after the meal right into the Reserved Waiting line and can be near the front for the second showing. ; Funny thing is that i did this in 2009 & 2010 and the couple standing behind me in 2009 was the couple in front of me in 2010.

What if we did Ft. Wilderness and the tapworm dinner at like 4:30, then walked the campground a little, grabbed the boat to Wilderness Lodge for their decorations, took the boat to the Contemporary for the same, then the Monorail to the Poly and the GF. ; This takes care of this loop and would leave us another night for Crescent lake.

Should we consider a wild Africa trek feasibility poll?

WHY NOT, throw it up there, but include the price tag as it will not be affordable for all

I would assume it would be on Sunday? ; The DAK day? ; I would want to know that so I could plan my flight home accordingly. ; But I would be in!
