again, it looks like my favorite shots were already posted so I will post a couple of different ones... I assume that most of the "Extras" have seen the show previously as the expression of joy on their faces is the right one to express while their comrade is getting the tar beaten out of him... do we see a theme here?
I had the 300mm out again for this one. It was too tight for most stuff, but perfect for a few things. Erich
Very nice shots! ; I hope to get some of mine up in the next few days (although mine are from Friday, not the meet)
Thanks guys. After 2 days of carrying that beast around, I said I'd never again take it to the parks. But now that I've started to see what it can give me... ; Erich
Nice work guys - love the closeups, Erich...I might need to consider bringing the 300mm to future shows. ; I stuck with just my ; travel zoom lens that day as I didn't feel like carrying a bag. ; So I was a bit more limited in how close I could get or how fast an aperture. Here's a few of mine - some similar to what was posted, and a few trying something different. ; All shots posted regulation, with 1024x pixel link below for better quality. ; Most at ISO1600. I thought this was pretty amazing, how close the whip actually comes to the performers...part of this burst sequence caught the whip cradling right over the neck of the bad guy: http://www.pbase.com/zackiedawg/image/1 ... iginal.jpg The famous Marian punch: http://www.pbase.com/zackiedawg/image/1 ... iginal.jpg I also decided to catch a shot of the guy doing his headstand somersault: http://www.pbase.com/zackiedawg/image/1 ... iginal.jpg A Nazi scene: http://www.pbase.com/zackiedawg/image/1 ... iginal.jpg Behind the director's chair P.O.V. of the final scene: http://www.pbase.com/zackiedawg/image/1 ... iginal.jpg
Although I was not at the meet with everyone (was there the day before) I had not seen the show in about 4 years. ; This is one of my favorites from that day. [attachimg=1]
Now my turn (finally): Like Erich I too was shooting with a 300/2.8. ; It's a little too long for half the show, otherwise it's decent.
Wow...seriously nice stuff Rog! ; Some of those closeups work marvelously - I will definitely need to consider hauling out the 300mm for this show in the future - I thought it would be too long, but those closeups look great.
