You've walked the trail - Pixelmania did the 'official' walkthrough before we bolted to catch Nemo. ; So let's see what you all got on the jungle trek in Asia! Comeon, noone shot on the Maharajah? ; Can't let this be the only Pixelmania thread with 0 responses. ;
didn't really get a chance to shoot maharajah. ; spent 45+ minutes in line at restaurantosaurus waiting for a stinking order... ; WE WERE THE SECOND PEOPLE IN LINE!!!!!!! ; College Program apathy at it's finest.
I had a similar issue at Commisary in DHS...stopped in for a large Sprite...3rd in line. ; 2 in front had orders for parties of 13, and the CM couldn't seem to get their orders properly put in. ; Finally made it to the counter, and watched 5 parties get their full trays while I waited for...here it is again: ; A LARGE SPRITE! ; Yes, I was 3rd in line. ; Yes, FIVE parties got their trays before I got my Sprite. ; No, I wouldn't have gotten it when I did had I not stepped BEHIND the counter by the EE counter break, and flagged down one of the servers to please hand me the large Sprite that was sitting, already filled, on the soda fountain for 8 minutes.
A few of mine....I figured you guys went to Nemo. ; I think I got wrapped up in the Jungle Trek and lost you guys. ; I stuck around to watch the monkeys for awhile. ; Great close up shots Justin! (those are not raindrops)
Paul...nice, ah...moment...captured on the monkey. ; Actually, with Tim being delayed getting to Maharajah, there were 3 of us waiting for 10 minutes and we were given the go-ahead when Tim said he couldn't make it in time. ; We ended up running into probably your group in the aviary - you all were coming in, and we were just headed out. ; I shot with Jason a while with the birds...when I walked towards the exit, I ran into Tim/Gary and a few others who were just arriving at Maharajah to gather who they could and make the dash for Nemo, so I tagged onto that caravan (my feet weren't pleased as we practically jogged all the way to nemo...then after Nemo, we practically ran a marathon to get to Kilimanjaro around the parade).
Justin, that Cockatoo looks downright evil. ; Between the red cheek, black eyes and massively curved beak. ; If you see this one coming at you... DUCK!
Thanks...he actually DID come at us! ; He flew off the netting directly at me and over me, to land in the tree...I had absolutely no time to know he was going to do that, so I didn't get focused in time for an inflight shot (I got an inflight shot, but it's blurry). ; You're right...he does look like he means business with that beak...keep fingers AWAY!
Nice set Paul. ; Love the light on the dragon and the colors in that one duck. ; Good timing on the "action shot" of the monkey!
Justin said, "...here's a colorful pigeon of some form..." It is an Emerald Dove. Nikon D700/28-300VR, 1/125s, f/5.6, ISO 5600, EV 0, 300mm FL
I took pics of the handouts a couple of years ago so I've been able to identify most but not all. They are not kept up to date and some birds you see are not on them.
Nice stuff - I really like that bat one - most of the ones I've seen (and taken) are darker, more rock and surround, but there's something distinctly bright and tropical looking about yours.
