I saw somebody on the trail from Africa to Asia with a HUGE lens (300mm f/2.8, maybe?)... ; I wonder if he was a Pixelmania goer. ; If so, I'm sure he has some great ones to share! ; My little 14-42mm (28-84mm equiv) kit lens mounted on the (not very good for action shots) Olympus E-P1 didn't cut it. ; I may have gotten one or two usable shots from the entire parade.

That might have been Jason (Zeagle). ; He seemed to have that lens on every time I saw him. ; It's a sweet lens.

Great shots Scott. ; I tried to get a few of the cast members in the parade but they were too blurry when i got them up on the computer screen.

Jeff, I used fill flash for all my parade photos on this trip. ; Really worked out great for candids like these. ; The flash gives enough light to capture the colors and helps to freeze the subject.

Thanks Scott! ; I'll have to remember that for the next trip.

That may have been me. I used the 300 f/2.8 for the parade mainly. Here are a couple jpg's, no fill flash needed ;), and before final post processing. I just started to go through my workflow to adjust levels, colors, sharpening, etc. The images are adjusted for exposure atm.

LOL... You would not need a bigger zoom, since it was a prime lens ;). I was fighting with the focal length during the whole parade and think the ideal range would be between 50-200mm. The 300 is to long when you consider the floats. Scott and you got great shots too! I always love seeing the expressions on the CM's faces.

Thanks- I like the first one best also.

She probably can right now- I can't run very fast at all. ; ;)

I got to Animal Kingdom a few hours before the pre-event meet, so I guess this would be a pre-pre-event meet photo.

edit: Hmm, it looks like the forum generated thumb is less saturated than the full size image.

I think this is the same CM as in Jeff's first shot. ; Unfortunately, aperture priority sometimes leaves you with a "perfectly exposed blur." ; So now I call it "art."
