OK, so I had never used RAW before the Future World Meet last week. ; Now I have some shots I cant look at. ; Someone (I dont remember who) mentioned a free software to convert them to jpeg so I can look at them. ; Anyone know anything about this?
ViewNX should do a basic conversion for you, or at least you'll be able to see them. I think Picasa can handle RAW files as well. ; Additionally if you use Photoshop Elements you can download Adobe's free DNG converter, which will convert the RAW files to DNG, and if you tell it to create an older DNG file it should be viewable in Elements.
try this free one John and as Roger said the camera comes with viewnx which can read nikon raw files http://www.faststone.org/
Downloaded this and it works great. ; Thanks, will try to figure out how Elements can read and convert it
