Got a few hours of sunshine yesterday in between monsoon rains- so we headed out to do a little paddling on the Rainbow River in Dunnellon FL. ; All shots taken with a new-to-me D200 & borrowed from Camryn 18-200vr. Camryn would have FREAKED OUT had she known what was on her hat- Anhingas drying out- Watching- Egret flying by- The view from the back of the boat- Scared of bugs but kids have no fear of 72 degree water! Taken by the DW- Water was like Ice- ; At least 200 yards from the 'Swim Area' I love the view from water level a canoe gives- Anhinga fighting with a fish for lunch- Victory! Cormorant on a low limb- You think TOT is bad? ; Try this... ; (Camryn was MAD I would not let her. ; :'( ) ; Loaded up the gear and got maybe two miles down the road when it hit. ; Perfect timing. ;
Great shots, and it looks like a great time! ; Thanks for posting. ; I will say that the guy jumping from that tree is CRAZY!
I think jumping from that tree looks like GREAT FUN! Great shots too Jeff. What a Great way to enjoy your day.
I think JUMPING from the tree would be fun- and swinging from the rope too. ; CLIMBING up the tree on the other hand I would not like so much. ; :
yeah i'd climb the tree, and use the rope swing, and i would NEVER, EVER, complain about the 72 degree water, we wait until late august up here for that, and usually don't get it, and if we do, it usually just funnels a hurricane our way i think i could handle that water
Looks like a great time. ; Water sounds fine - cool, sure...but on a hot Florida day, that would be a relief! ; Glad you were able to dodge the raindrops...ours subsided yesterday around 2pm, but we stayed gray and ugly the rest of the day. ; A few brief showers passed early evening, but we are sunny and hot all day today so far. ; We'll see if the afternoon brings the boomers. ; Unfortunately, we don't have any rivers or creeks that clear to swim in - ours are all Everglades-related, which means murky and filled with alligators! ; But canoeing in them is fun. ; Brave of you to bring the DSLR in the boat too - I'm always a little scaredy-cat with my camera around water, so I only bring a compact in a waterproof case if I'm canoeing.
Ah, youth...I'd like to jump for the tree but it might throw out my back! ; ;D ; What a great day you've captured, Jeff!
