I posted these to the old TMIP board just before the merge of forums, and it was lost in the melee, so I wanted to re-post it again for fun! This was from my trip in January this year, on a late evening in Magic Kingdom when we had a persistent rainy night. I wanted to take some long-exposure shots on a tripod around Fantasyland, and the rain wasn't going to stop me, so I put a plastic bag over the camera, and took my shots. They're a little dark and wet, but I think that was a different sort of look for the park that was fun: OK...I left Fantasyland for this last one, but the rainy night look of the Tomorrowland gate was kind of cool too:
Thanks Craig. The rain will do that - keeps the crowds down! It wasn't just wet - it was actively raining in most of those shots. Had an umbrella for me, and a ziploc bag for the camera, and the tripod got wet.
Justin your pictures are amazing, they are making me want to leave for Disney tomorrow. I have some old pictures from 1999 they are not as elegant as yours. But I think they would be fun to look at for a trip back in time. I am going to have to dig out the pictures and install my printer so I can scan them. I have a busy day today so I might not get to it today. But I will get them posted. Greg
Thank you Greg. I love digging through old Disney photos...I've got some family shots from all the way back to 1974, when I was just a wee kid...I started taking photos in Disney in the early 1980s - not only is it fun to see what you and friends & family looked like back then, but to see such changes in the parks - rides long-since gone, areas which have been redone or moved altogether, clothing of the period, and so on.
These pictures are gorgeous! The colors are so vivid! The Fantasyland Carosel(sorry, can't spell) is awesome! Looks like some rain just happened; gives an even brighter look to the colors! Great job! Wish I had your talent for picture taking!
