I realize that this only the middle of September, but here is the Magic Kingdom before Halloween in 2007. In an afternoon of boredom, I "rediscovered" this shot on my computer and decided to do a little editing. Magic Kingdom at Halloween by MJH20, on Flickr
After finally seeing the parks at all times of the year, I have decided that the colors and lighting of this time of year, along with the Halloween party, are my absolutely favorite time!
While the Halloween decorations are nice, I still think Christmas wins out for my favorite time just because of all the little extras (like Holidays around the World, Candlelight Processional, etc...). ;
As of now, I like Christmas best. ; I go all out for it here at home and love to see the parks decorated (even if that has been a little toned down some over the past few years.) ; That being said, I have never been in the fall (except for a Sept trip when I was 11) and cant wait to see the Halloween decorations at the MK. ; Do the resorts do anything for Halloween?
Some of the resorts put out a few decorations, but nothing like Christmas time. ; I do also like the holidays around the world in Epcot, and after last year we decided to make that a family tradition. ; I just liked the Halloween party so much better. ; I guess I just enjoy seeing more of the villains out and about. ; Plus the Headless Horseman is so cool! ; Now that I know the route of travel as it pertains to Main Street, I think I can get a better shot of him.
No Halloween party for me this year, but I may squeeze in a trip over to Salem, Mass while calling there next month - that should have a Halloweeny theme going on!
Other than seeing the MK decorated as I have never seen (only in pics) the Horseman is what I am looking forward to the most! ; I dont plan I trying to take any photos of him, just take it in.
I got such a rush seeing him last year. ; It is really a special treat. ; A little tidbit in case you weren't aware. ; The horse used for the run, is only used for this event. ; He is trained just for it. ; The rider, can't see at all, and the horse does all the running itself.
