Timmy wants to play, too! [This attachment has been purged. Older attachments are purged from time to time to conserve disk space. Please feel free to repost your image.]
Hey, I'm just amazed that you can tell what the subject of my picture is. Your pictures are so bright. My picture is after messing with the exposure. But who knows what I could've done if I had actually taken the picture in RAW first. <slaps hand> Bad Ray!
Don't forget the other drunken pirates: <img src="http://www.themeparkphotos.us/cpg140/albums/uploads/071007/A/IMG_8332.jpg" /> And watch out...the ceiling may cave in. <img src="http://www.themeparkphotos.us/cpg140/albums/uploads/071007/A/IMG_8322.jpg" />
I'd love to play too...but I haven't been to Disneyland since I've had a digital camera! ; Nice work guys...keep rubbing it in how much better POTC is out there. ;
Schedule a visit in 2011 or even 2012. ; Trust me. ; Next year DCA gets the World of Color. ; In 2011 The Little Mermaid dark ride will open (they aren't holding anything back on this one, it's going to be a 7+ min people eater in the quality of POTC and HM), and in 2012 hopefully Test Track 2.0, a la Radiator Springs Racing will be open. ; Of course the lines for that will be incredibly long, but at least DL will finally have the safety valve it needs. ; Last I heard was that WDW mgmt backed out of putting TLM in Fantasyland, so when it opens, and becomes a hit, it will be a few years before they can build the show building or evict Pooh and put TLM Lite.[nb]Just kidding about the last part. ; I think.[/nb] Now Test Track is going to be oddity, since Florida is actually going to get the improvements for almost everything as it is the "proving grounds", and I can't see how GM can continue to sponsor an attraction when they will be closing 2600 dealerships. ; So with a sponsor change, it may be the push needed to update Test Track to Test Track Racing. ; And of course Star Tours 2.0 will be out by then as well.... And don't forget the DVC units should be open by next year too.
I cannot wait for my trip in mid-June. ; From the sounds of it, I'll get to experience the special summer-only fireworks, updated Fantasmic!, updated Electric Light Parade, and the World of Color at DCA
These pics are the reason that I was absolutely terrified of this ride when I was about 6. ; Does anyone remember the Sing-A-Long videos Disney produced in the 80s and 90s (and I believe they show Disney Sing-A-Long/Heigh Ho on Resort TV). ; Well they do a sing a long for Yo-Ho Yo-Ho Pirates Life For Me. ; Showing a lot of scenes from the DL version of Pirates. At the end, the boat and its passengers go into an area with lots of barrels of gun powder and dynamite...the video ends with a giant explosion. I was convinced that was going to happen to me and refused to go on. Of course if I was logical I would realize my family went on Pirates several times and came out without a scratch everytime. Kind of an embarrassing story but absolutely true!
I remember being a little bit surprised the first time I hit Disneyland in 1976, having spent 4 1/2 years as a Disney World kid...including having ridden the delayed opening POTC down here when they decided they needed to rush it into being. ; I felt a little disoriented with the bayou scenes, and remember being quite fearful when there was a second drop which just wasn't supposed to be there. ; The whole rest of the ride, I was trying to anticipate any other surprises I didn't know about that made the west coast POTC decidedly different. ; I remember asking my father before going on any other ride there "what's different in this ride" - I didn't want any more surprises, like a Haunted Mansion that does a 360 spin or something. ; When my dad told me there was an intersection in the Grand Prix cars...I didn't want to go on them because I was scared the cars would slam into eachother. ; Of course, it was all decidedly less scary when I moved to California in 1990 and visited again as an adult.
I am glad that you keep posting these. ; I have never been to DL and I can't wait to get there. ; I am probably going to wait till at least 2012 though, because I REALLY want to be able to experience Cars land and the completely revamped DCA.
