Here's another for you all. I'm sure you're getting hungry for Gordon's Fishsticks when you see this...either that or you're thinking of a fishing town in Massachusetts. But this guy is hiding somewhere in the World of Disney...where?:
Re: Sailin Away...but where? I do believe this particular replica lived in the epcot 25th anniversary exhibit in the innoventions breezway.
Re: Sailin Away...but where? I do believe you are correct! Nice one...I wasn't sure if anyone had gone into that little side room and looked around. Alot of interesting little bits in there.
Re: Sailin Away...but where? good guess, I had no clue. Is that 25th display still there? If so I totally missed it during Mousefest. Gloucester, MA is where you will find the other version: Man At The Wheel
Re: Sailin Away...but where? AFAIK, the exhibit closed right around 10/1/2008. It was/is located in the Innoventions Breezeway between the Fountain of Nations and The Land... right behind the Character Meet and Greet.
Re: Sailin Away...but where? Looks similar to one of the statues along the wall inside the theatre of The American Adventure.
Re: Sailin Away...but where? I had discovered that secret area back in Feb. and took lots of photos, then took video of some of the displays when I was back down in September. Very interesting exhibit, but not many people noticed it.
Re: Sailin Away...but where? it was not heavily publicized, that's for sure, but it was an interesting experience in epcot history. kind of a shame, really. "we're getting ready for you...."
Re: Sailin Away...but where? The other thing I saw...On this years telecast of the Disney Christmas Parade, they showed some clips of previous years and had the Dragon Boats and planes on the World Showcase Lake. Very amusing.
Re: Sailin Away...but where? You can see the entrance to the exhibit in this shot: They had alot of clay models which were mockups for the pavilion designs, showing what the designers were planning on. It is too bad that so few noticed it - very cool display and a nice piece of history. We were up there for the Epcot 25th 'thing', so we were intentionally there to celebrate what Disney was unfortunately not putting on a big gala for themselves.
Re: Sailin Away...but where? actually if you walk past the restrooms thru electric umbrella, you are right there at that intersection.
