I have been asked to take some senior pictures outside, no studio shots. ; Since I have never done this before I thought I would ask for advice. ; I was planning on using available light and a reflector for fill. From out initial talks, the location will be under a huge oak tree so should have some soft light. ; ave been thinking about off camera flash but would like to keep it as simple as possible.
A neat trick for outdoor portraits is to put the sun behind the subject and use some basic off camera flash to light the subject. ; This allows you to control the light and prevents squinting. ; Here's on I did that way for my sister when she graduated: 125s f8 400 ISO, two SB800's fired through a 1 stop Lastolite Tri-grip, camera right.
