I have never seen a Shamu show at night. The extra colors that it adds to the show are amazing. Maybe if I have time the next time I am in Orlando, I might take a trip to see a night show over there.
Me either until that trip. I was surprised the family made it that long!!!!! We had seen Shamu during the day in San Antonio, so we did the dolphins and Cirque during the day (actually Cirque only runs during the day) and waited until the one performance of Shamu Rocks. I'm surprised we actually got into the stadium because at that time of night there is very else to do in the park.
I really like the colors and the water spray. Was it hard to get the color "right"? Shamu is nice and white against the bright colors. Did you have to tweak that in the camera with white balance or fix it afterwards, or is Shamu lit with nice white lights?
I leave my camera on auto; I don't remember using Bibble's white point dropper to change any of those shots. I just adjusted the fill light, overall exposure and usually bumped the saturation up past my starting levels. Most of the time they did have a white spotlight on the orcas; sometimes not.
Great shots...love the colors! I haven't been to a 'Sea World' in @ 15 years. These make me want to take my daughter to the one in San Antonio.
Hey, San Antonio's Shamu stadium is covered, which isn't an issue at night, but is great during the day! (thinking about the 2 year APs next year for there)
