Anyone know if you can shoot teethered with a Canon 5d and windows vista? I talked with Canon and they said it was not possible. However, I usually take what manufactures say with a grain of skepticism.

Dunno about Vista (yuk!), but it can be done with XP. You need to use the included Canon software. Good Luck!

Yeah, I knew it could be done easily with XP but all my OS are Vista. Maybe someone knows of some third party software that can do it.

Since I have not even installed Vista on any computer, let alone used it (and I am an IT professional...), I'm not sure if this will work (we did this when we transitioned from 2000 to XP), but you could possible install the software in compatability mode (back date it to XP). Not sure if you need drivers or not, also - if you do, you may have a problem, but you could search the 'net for them.
