has anyone got or used this lens, i'm thinking of it. I've got a sigma18-200mm and the lack of stabilisation is starting to hurt with some of the shots i'm after

i'm using a 400d and at times the battery grip

  2. I have been really happy with mine. Takes pretty decent pics. For me it is the ultimate travel lens. Not perfect, but works great if the light is right ; :-*

ive been looking at this lens also, it does get a lot of good reviews and is great value for money

  4. This is a dream of mine too - it would be nice to carry around one lens instead of two. But I know that those two lenses take better pics than the one will. ANd I dont really need to spend that kind of money as I dont take THAT many pics!

Here's a forum page over at Dyxum dedicated to images from the Alpha mount version of this lens:

Unfortunately I can't consider any Sigma lenses at this time; too much of a hassle.

completely disagree. ; my AWOL 120-400 OS and 50-500 OS have been razor sharp and built like tanks. ; not to mention way cheaper than any comparable canon offering.

I was being specific to me. ; ALL of Sigmas lenses, past and present, are not compatible with my current camera. ; Older lenses can't be upgraded and the newer ones would have to be sent in for a hardware fix. ; But it's specific to the two new models.
