We had some nice fluffy Lake Effect snow last weekend and my daughter wanted me to get some pictures of the horse she trains and shows for her Aunt. This is Klyde, a half Arabian gelding, who enjoyed his romp in the snow for me. Data below each picture.

I like the first and last ones the best. I think that the is what I like about them. It is so white it almost glows. Great job.

nice job white balancing the snow. very easy to make it look gray and dreary.

Very nice. I especially like the stance of the horse in the second and third shots.

first is my fav, really captured the exuberance of a young horse, feeling his oats as it is, nice stuff, i'm guessing nhe's reacting to the appearance at the fence of his treats bearer??

aha... i was waiting for g-money to jump on the horse thread. i figured you of all people here would have gotten a kick out of this.
snow is a paradox for me... it can look so pretty but i really hate almost everything about it.

My daughter had a plastic grocery bag and she was making noise with it to perk his ears up. I like all of them but the first one is my favorite as it shows his personality to the fullest. He's always reacting to the slightest noises around him with big eyes and flaring nostrils. Glad you liked it!

Now, Tim, it could be a lot worse here. Just 10 miles north of where these pictures were taken, they had gotten 37 inches of snow in 24 hours! Even caved in the DPW garage for the City of Fulton. Now, next time you go to the beach, remember to use that EV button! I would think bright sand would fool the camera's meter just like snow does.

Tomorrow, the forecast calls for an ice storm. Planning on having my camera with me. Mother Nature is sure putting on a show in upstate NY this winter.

yes i have learned in recent years that the ev button is one's best friend (or worst nightmare if you are careless with your settings).
