Well, its not a lost WDW attraction, but it has changed over the years. I remember when the Mickey wand wasn't there (I don't have any pictures from that era). They added the wand in 1999, to celebrate the upcoming Year 2000 celebrations. Here are two photos from December 1999...
i know people hat the mickey hand/wand but i am kind of partial to it. i also like the word epcot better than the 2000 but i know there was a reason for putting 2000 on SE.
i wish those crystal statue figures were still there. however, i do like the leave a legacy blocks they have assembled, even if the popular opinion is it looks like a graveyard. welcome to the boards, roger.
