In the cold gray days of February, I often go looking for photos of water and sky. ; I can never resist trying to capture light that is so magical and it's ever more beautiful when accompanied by some form of water. Sometimes...I am lucky enough to have both. Softly the evening came. The sun from the western horizon ; Like a magician extended his golden wand o'er the landscape; ; ; Trinkling vapors arose; and sky and water and forest ; ; ; Seemed all on fire at the touch, and melted and mingled together. ; ; ; - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
A definite score on that first one. ; I find myself liking the third too, the dense repeating line pattern and the silhouetted waterfowl work for me, it has a certain balance.
1 and 3 are both great - I especially love the color ridging in the waves on the first - I've always looked for such patterns in water myself.
Thanks everyone. ; The simple moments in each of these photographs are exactly why I love camping so much. ; Can't wait to bring you all back some more in a few months. ; Only 2 more months until camping season begins for us...early this year, in April, near Boston. ; There should be some great photo ops there!!
