On my last day at the Magic Kingdom - they had put some of the Halloween decorations up. ; And because Halloween is one of my favorite times of year - I was glad to get just a taste of it at Disney World.
Oh absolutely, this a handheld HDR. ; I tried not to over-do it though. ; Its hard shooting HDR with moving subjects! lol
Here is another hdr of the castle. ; I like this one because the flag is in the picture due to it being at half-staff (Ted Kennedy).
Now, that looks like a painting or cell. ; That's not a bad thing as I think that's when the artist in us comes out when adding special effects to our photos.
Great job on both of these shots Kaigler. I love the feel to both of these. Definitely looks like they would be cells.
I like the first one more than the second, because I am not a fan of the fantasy look of HDR, BUT the second one is still a nice shot. ; It's on the border of too fantasy vs not for me. ; I really need to learn a little more about this, and how it is done, because I would like to try it myself. ; Thanks for posting, these are causing me to think a little more about getting to try this myself.
I think its a blast. ; When I first saw some Disney HDR pictures I was totally blown away. ; So when I went I wanted to try my hand at a few. ; Plus it gives you something extra to be excited about when you get home to see how it turned out. ; These were all done handhead which really isn't ideal, but I didn't have a tripod. ; The second was steadied on the rail of the train station and the first was just steadied on my hand ; ; If you look at the really large version, you can see artifacts in the pictures from the very slight difference in position. ; Photomatix tries to fix what it can but small issues still arise. ; I fixed the major ones in PS and then got lazy. But I highly encourage you to at least give it a try, its a lot of fun - couldn't hurt ;
Is there a tutorial on this technique or maybe you could could show us the steps you tood to create the second image. ; That's the one that blows me away. ; Looks like a painting from the turn of the century (if the Castle wasn't there! LOL). ; Or some concept art created when WDW was announced. ;
Not sure what process Kaigler used, but this site has a tutorial and some nice photos including some Disney shots. http://www.stuckincustoms.com/
