It is amazing what you can see when you gaze into an animal's eyes... http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4016/4496603104_5a9f4680c4_b.jpg/img] [img]http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2203/3532872990_c2c1f3252d_b.jpg And feel free to post your own versions of the Animal Soul Gaze...
Some of these are repeats but bare repeating for this thread. ; Great idea. ; I have both domestic and wild versions.
Ah yes...a great subject indeed! ; I do love making eye contact with animals of all sorts...sometimes with my lens in the way. ; Here's a few staring my way: And then there's my own animal's eyes: I shoot lots of animals, so I've got lots of shots of eyes, and looks in my general direction. ; But these are the ones where you think to yourself...is he looking at ME? ; I mean, is he looking AT me? ; Or just in my general direction? ; No...for sure...he's looking AT ME!
some fantastic shots here. hope mine are worthy [attachments posted prior to 4/27/2010 have been deleted by admin. be sure to link images to make sure they don't get removed]
I don't know if anyone else has noticed this (and I mentioned in another thread)... ; Is it just me or do most of the birds in the photos look like they are getting ready to take over the world with an evil plot?
Penguins are planning a secret strike on the world in an underground lair in Antarctica...I'm almost sure of it. Where do you think the mothers go for months on end while the dads sit on the eggs??? Exactly. BTW that penguin picture looks like there's a firework from Wishes above his head LOL!!! Great shots everyone!
Justin, the first photo of the Tri-Colored(?) Heron is scary. ; He was coming for ya! Howie, love the dog eyes..beautiful. ; Jeff...not sure about that penguin. ; Was he in the Batman movie? Jason, nice...I tend to lose the eyes on the lemurs. ; Need a lens with a little more reach like yours. Had to pull this one out.
Those gorillas seem up for a challenge whenever I go there...I get stared down or mock charged almost every time I go. ; Except one of the males on the singles side...who gives me a knowing sort of look and a funny face! ; Nice shots Rog. And everyone else so far! ; Howie, the dog is adorable, and with that second look, would likely get absolutely anything he wants. Scott - you're right - that tricolor was upset about something. ; He hopped up on the handrail about 10 feet behind me, squawking up a storm, then as I walked slowly away, he'd march right down the rail behind me following close. ; I finally spun around to snap a shot of the angry little dude!
These low-land gorillas were taken in the National Zoo in Washington, DC. ; Their home is not nearly as nice as in WDW and they looked sad. And a bit bored.
I love this thread.. LOVE IT. ; These sorts of animal pictures are my weakness. So of course I have to pile on. I'll note that the bear shot is officially an award winner.. well.. kinda. ; I won a photo contest at the zoo with it, took second place. Roger, I think the Gorilla in the second photo is plotting against you. "If that photographer makes one step forward... POW! He's mine!" As for the penguin, the "Fireworks" are just grass that got caught in the flash. ; And no, this is a Rock Hopper Penguin (like the one voiced by Robin Williams in "Happy Feet") not an Emperor (like the ones used in Batman).
