i was bummed about the mansion going down for the entire summer but after riding it last week, it really needs some TLC. really starting to show at the seams and being held together with band-aids, sadly.
I'm baffled that they closed it over the summer.. yes, we've all had this discussion before, but.. well, in the end I can't help thinking that it's nice that it'll be open for Mousefest, when I'll be there. So it worked out for me anyway.
Hey, a little clean-up would be nice...and *crossing fingers* maybe they'll upgrade those ridiculous ancient mail-slot-sized turnstyles out front to those nice new Pirates-style ones so the big wide line of people doesn't have to bottleneck down to two measly slots to get through! I'll miss it when I get up there Thursday...but if it means a cleaned up, smooth-running Haunted Mansion and new electronic turnstyles - I'm all for it!
Gosh, I forgot about that..... DL's turnstiles are at the top of the exit ramp. I'm sure they will upgrade to the light beam models - I remember DL having the turnstiles and now they are the light beam ones. There still are turnstiles in Fantasyland though!
