I noticed this reflection walking past Stitch. [attachments posted prior to 4/27/2010 have been deleted by admin. be sure to link images to make sure they don't get removed]
Wow! Way to take a few moments and enjoy your surroundings! Usually around that area I feel like a fish swimming upstream
Nice shot; I like the slightly off-center crop. I notice you said "walking PAST Stitch" rather than "EXITING Stitch"...
Umm who here still goes on it? I went on ExtraTERRORestial Encounter once. ; That was enough. ; While the technology was cool for the time, I don't plan on seeing it with Stitch. ; I have no problem with Stitch.[nb]Or with Pixar in Tomorrowland.[/nb] ; In fact, part of me wishes they had added Stitch to Space Mountain.
I have no problem with Stitch or Pixar in Tomorrowland, either. ; I think Tomorrowland has become "Sci Fi" land, and that's fine with me. ; Monster's Inc, Buzz Lightyear, and Stitch are all Sci Fi, and loose fits for Tomorrowland. ; Good enough for me. That said, of the attractions based upon those properties, I only like BLSRS and MILF. ; I think SGE is incredibly poorly done, and definitely not as good as Alien Encounter, which I found rife with satirical humor and quite well done. ; I think the current SGE attraction is dramatically different from Alien Encounter. ; Even though I don't like SGE and did love AE, and you didn't even care for the previous attraction, I would think it's worth seeing at least once. ; Unless you reduce an attraction to its most basic terms (and what's the fun in that if you actually aim to enjoy the attractions), it seems odd to judge an attraction's quality based on its predecessor's quality (at least until you've experienced both, at which time you may want to say, "they replaced X for THIS?!").
I have experienced both and I do say that about it. ; I can understand why they wanted to get AE out of there because it was a tad too scary for the family friendly Tomorrowland, but did they really have to create a new version that was basically the same attraction with a toned down fear factor?
I can understand why AE had to leave based on "fear factor" as well (although a friend of mine who used to work SGE said they still got a lot of complaints). ; So you think it's basically the same? ; I think it's dramatically different. ; The script is different, the backstory, and I think, the quality. ; As I stated, I thought AE had more satirical elements, and was just 'smarter'. ; I don't think SGE is as terrible as some say, but it's far from good. ; It just seems hollow story-wise. ;
Probably should've clarified a bit more. ; Much of the set pieces seem very similar to AE. ; You still have the circular room with the restraints, you still have a monster appear out of nowhere and break out of the glass tube in the middle, the room still gets dark and the alien does weird stuff in the dark, you still have the pre-show talking about transporting aliens across space. Except now being a creepy, scary horror-like show, it's using the whimsical, prank-like nature of Stitch to do similiar stuff. ; To me, they hadn't digressed to much from the original premise of the previous attraction. ; It's not like the change from what was in the show building before AE
This is a cool shot Craig! ; I really have to work on looking around more when I am there for pixelmania.
Cool shot indeed - and good eye. ; I can't say I've ever taken notice of that before. It's a cool effect - almost like a submarine in reverse...it seems like we're outside a sub looking at an underwater future world inside.
thanks everyone!! Dina and I like Stitch well enough. We usually go on it most trips. I get a kick out of the chili dog burp. As I look at this, I can't remember how I was able to stand to not get my reflection in the window. I may have to look at this scene again just to find out! thanks, I did too. I think its more intersting than centered.
