  1. Didn't go to the Northwestern/Illinois game on Saturday but on Sunday got to go ON the field and throw the football around with the family a little bit. Had a great time and got some great pics!

Did they open the field to the public on Sunday? ; If I didn't have to work this past weekend I most likely would have been at the game. ; Looks like it was a lot of fun either way.

  4. Red,

My sister heard about it on Facebook. It was a charity thing with all proceeds to going to Cubs Cares. It was 50 dollars a person to go down on the field and run around for an hour or 15 dollars to sit in the stands and watch. ; You can bet nobody was sitting in the stands. ; But if they ever do this again (we'll see since they could only use one endzone) I highly recommend it.

it looked like a very unique opportunity, but i'm a traditionalist, i was at wrigley in may of this year, for a cubs/pirates game, day game, traditional all the way, and i'm sorry but i just have a hard time with the football field on that hallowed ground. but i'm sure some football fans feel the same way about their stadia. on the other hand, glad the proceeds went to charity. but in case anyone wonders, i'm also opposed to rock concerts in baseball stadiums, artificial turf, domes, the designated hitter, night games that start later than 7:00pm, and wild cards/playoffs. bring back the world series belonging to the 2 teams with the best league records. thanks for listening, this rant has been brought to you by curmudgeons R us.

If they do it again they will run the field North/South like when the Bears played there many years ago. ; (i suppose) or if possible, the way the field was for the Army game at new Yankee stadium.

  7. My Dad told me theyve done games before with the same set up but were thinking that some of the new seats added in the past few years caused a few problems.
