Transport Aircraft - WWII Weekend

    Here are the two transport aircraft that flew at the show in Reading. ;

    The C-47 Skytrain, as many of you probably know, saw alot of time working during the war, but is famous for dropping the 101st and 82nd Airborne into Normandy the night of D-Day.

    The C-46 Commando is a funny looking plane. ; I looks alot like the more "popular" C-47, just fatter. ; It has some nicknames, although not very flattering ones: the Whale, Curtiss Calamity, Plumber's Nightmare and the Flying Coffin. ; It actually saw service in Korea and Vietnam.
