I went to Pittsburgh for 1.5 days in August to see a Pirates game with my father, great game and wonderful stadium. ; The night we arrived I spent time along the river walk, what great views of downtown. Downtown Pittsburgh by jbwolffiv, on Flickr I have some more, but need the time to get to them.
Neat town - I haven't been there since I was a boy. ; It was a little more run down back then, but even then it had some atmosphere and cool views. ; It's much more cleaned up now - I'd love to get back there someday.
I really enjoyed the short time I was there. ; I want to take my wife and daughter back. ; It was the best i have seen so far as well Gary (yet my list is MUCH shorter than yours and a few of my stadiums dont exist anymore). ; Here is a view between the Andy Warhol Bridge and the Rachel Carson Bridge. Beautiful shots, John. ; And every time I see "Roberto Clemente" I can't help but recall George Carlin's "Seven words you can't say on TV" routine.
Thanks Dennis! ; I know his 7 words, and the 3 he added later, but no clue of the Roberto Clemente connection. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
"There are some 2-way words, like it is okay for Curt Gowdy to say 'Roberto Clemente has two balls on him,' but he can't say 'I think he hurt his balls on that play, Tony. Don't you? He's holding them. He must've hurt them, by God.'"
LMAO! ; I remember that now, had to explain why I was laughing to my wife! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
Lovely night shots, John. ; I have flown in and out of Pittsburgh a few times but never enjoyed time there.
Roberto Clemente? ; Why yes, they did. ; This statue was on the other side of the stadium. ; It rained a good portion of the day we had to walk around, so I decided to give this a B&W treatment. Roberto Clemente by jbwolffiv, on Flickr
