I know it's been done a million times before, but every time I look at this shot I want to do it again and again. I think I have much love for the People Mover. Maybe next time I'll use the ND400 and do a daytime version.

  3. THis is amazing! I spent too much time taking pictures of my one of my favorite views of the castle to get this shot!

I made an attempt on a shot like this during the day with an ND400 many years ago with a P&S camera...might be worth trying again with a better camera![attachimg=1]

I've told you once before Justin, great minds think alike:) Tim and Jeff, I set my camera on my tripod before I got on the TTA. I didn't know how long it would take to get my settings right, so I didn't want to waste time setting up. I set the camera on Aperture Priority and Matrix Metering. I think my F stop was around 4 to keep the shutter to no more than 5 seconds at ISO100. I was worried that the bumps would blur the image but they don't. I just held the tripod tight. I was also using the Tokina 11-16. This shot is actually really fun but really hard to try to get the timing of the ride(turns, speed, etc). I probably took 12-15 shots and really liked 2.

Exactly! ; I found that funny when I first saw your TTA onboard pic previously as we had both executed not only similar shots and ideas, but even roughly at the same place on the ride:

Like you, I tried to keep it shorter to avoid the bumps getting in the shot - mine was only 2 seconds, also on the tripod.

So when you mentioned wanting to try an ND400, I definitely got a laugh at how alike some of us can think!

I did figure out that much shorter than 2 seconds is just too short...one of my attempts I went real short at .8 sec, and it didn't get enough of the 'motion' feel:

Thanks everyone! Justin, you would think the bumps would give motion blur but they didn't. I made sure to hold my tripod really tight on the floor. One thing I did on my tripod/ night shots was use manual focus. That's one area that the Nex shines.

    Awesome

I really miss my People Mover.

miss miss miss the People Mover.
Loved the ride, loved the music, loved the platform for fantasyland and tomorrow land pictures, loved the gentle breather on a busy day, loved the speed tunnel and the Tron "speed tunnel".

    I miss Disneyland People Mover.

Thanks for the picture of it's first cousin.

I Love the TTA as well Will. Didn't the TTA used to be called the WEDWay People Mover? Just thinking that I remember this for some reason.
