    Upstate New York is going Orange crazy with the SU Men's Basketball team in the NCAA Final Four again including public buildings in the City of Syracuse.

    I think a few SU fans would like to see the referees from the Michigan game in front of a judge here. Not that anyone is bitter or anything. ; ;)

    Took my D7100 and 70-200 f/2.8 to a very poorly lit indoor horse jumping competition. ISO 6400 and worked over in Lightroom and Photoshop. Not bad, I would never have tried it with the D7000. Unfortunately it's got me wondering how much better the full frame D600 would be. Same basic chassis, also 24 MP...hmm.

    Not bad at all. ; I am finding the noise more prominent than I expected with the D7100. ; For web use, 4000 or under is fine. ; Printing over an 8x10 or 8x12 would need some noise reduction done on images over 1000 ISO. ;

    The D600 or a used D700 will give you better images at high ISO being FX. Let me put it this way, I will still bring my D700 to WDW over the D7100 because of the low noise. The D7100 would be great at AK with the crop factor but the 28-300VR is fine there. So, worth the extra money to you?

    That's my conundrum. Even with noise reduction and tweaking, printed at 8 x 10 the image is too soft. A possible weekend gig earning a few bucks but getting experience means going FX for this kind of gig. Selling the brand new D7100 means also buying at least 1 new lens to replace my 11-16 and 17-55 DX lenses. All my other lenses are FX. Wish this opportunity had come along before I got the D7100, it would have been an easier decision. Then there's the, well, for half again the price of a D600 do I jump in with both feet and get a D800 and have a camera good enough for many years? Not sure what to do.

    The protective netting makes the field look like separate from the stands. Like a projection.
