Here's another photo from the weekend that @Scottwdw, @ExploringWDW and I spent at the Frozen Dome Classic in Syracuse. This is an example of what happens when creative college students have too much time on their hands: a radio-controlled model Zamboni, complete with T-shirt cannon and a driver who waves his rally towel to pump up the crowd. It took to the ice along with the Syracuse Crunch's Olympia ice resurfacer during the Oswego State - Utica College game. When I grow up...
Remember when race cars looked like space ships (and not like all of the other race cars on the track)? Here's a 1969 Lola T70 MKIII at the 2014 SVRA Brickyard Vintage Racing Invitational at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The good old days
Some modern-day race cars this time. A Viper in front of a Porsche, albeit in different classes, at Indy last summer. Turn 10 action

More race cars. Hey, I live in Indianapolis where racing is a part of life. This is either Parnelli Jones driving the car he used to win the 1963 Indy 500, or Robert Dicks driving a replica of that car. Both cars and drivers were in action at Indy in 2014. I can't wait to attend this vintage racing event again this year. PJ's winner

I'm going to miss seeing sports cars race in Indy now that they've removed this race from the Brickyard calendar. Two different

Going back to 2013 for this one, the last time I had a chance to spend a day watching the MotoGP bikes at IMS. The is Kentucky native Nicky Hayden showing his form on the infield road course. Note the shape of the front tire where it contacts the track. Born to ride
This is something you would not see 100 years ago: German and British planes together at the same airfield. This shot is from the Dawn Patrol Rendezvous held at Dayton, Ohio. The Fokker DR.I triplane in the foreground is the model made famous by the Red Baron. Morning on the flight line
A double post for today. First, another shot from the Dawn Patrol Rendezvous airshow in Dayton, Ohio. This was a scene from one of the "German" re-enactment groups. I don't think there's a better-looking military helmet than the Prussian spike-topped one. All quiet The local camera shop sponsored a "how to shoot hockey" workshop that included VIP access to an Indy Fuel ECHL game. It was a load of fun to get a chance to shoot the local team from rinkside. And Indy won the game to boot. Intense patience
That away, @ddindy Have any pucks fly at you? Lately, I have had a few come my way... Flying Pucks by Scottwdw
@Scottwdw Pucks come at me all the time, but they don't bother me. It was fun watching the rookie shooters recoil from the first hard check in front of them, though. I saw your full set of puck shots this morning; nice collection you have there.
Racing season is well under way. Time to schedule a road trip to your favorite venue. Here's an Audi R8 in Indianapolis last summer: Aerial reptile
