Who's going or has gone to Magicmeet?

    Tim, you should have a nice group there helping you out this year, at least it seems that way right now

    I hope he does!

    It's nice how popular Tim's TMIP is getting after only two years.

    (Tim, was 2007 your first year?)

    Hopefully Tim will be speaking or hosting a Photo session this year~

    Tim and I are working on getting the boss' approval as we speak.

    2006 actually. last meet in allentown was my first...

    Each year a few more get added on. Last year Fred added Mousesurplus to the mix.

    We've got all angles of Disney fandom covered with the spornsors that come to the meet.

    MouseSurplus was next to Tim's table last year. I remember them, they were quite the salesmen :)

    Apparantly he was too much of a salesman...folks actually complained about how aggressive he was and asked Fred to reign him in if he comes to the meet next year ... but shhhhh ... don't tell anybody I said that ;)

    I didn't want to say anything, but a discussion about that very thing occurred between me and a certain other TMIP'er the other night. We used it an example of how we DIDN'T want TMIP sales to occur at any Disney Fan Gathering

    The message has gotten to the boss.

    It's a shame cause the guy was simply overzealous and too new to understand.

    Even if it's politely in a PM or email, everything like this should be shared.

    Is Fred even going to be able to take on any new sponsors? The tables were practically stacked on top of each other last year. If Fred keeps growing he'll have to move hotels or get more ballroom space.

    I vote moving it to Atlantic City if he ever moves!

    We will work on the spacing next year...I promise.

    My volunteer team is phenomenal, Fred is a real brainchild when it comes to putting such a huge event together and I am great at making whatever he dreams up happen.

    The survey that gets sent out at the end of every year really helps us improve as well. People come up to me alot to drop recommendations during the event every year. Everything gets relayed back to Fred and our team puts it all back together for the next year.

    If someone doesn't come back there will be room for new-
    we'll see who signs on over the next month or so.

    Our contract runs out this year. A rough est was done for Philly and AC when we left Allentown. If you find a good price we will consider any and all offers. The venue HAS to be able to accomodate more than 550 tho. I've talked to a few at business conventions here and alot of them don't have the space.

    What a GREAT idea! I know that between the convention center, boardwalk hall and all of the other casinos there are plenty of spaces available for larger groups. I am not sure about the cost though. The Convention Center even has a NJ Transit train station incorporated in the building. You can get there from Philly just by jumping on the train. The airport is right there, and it is very accessible by car. (Plus it is only an hour from where I am now, and only 30 minutes from where we are hoping to move from, AND I work in the area ;))

    Magicmeet planning is underway...if you've missed me, that's where I've been. Tim, you got that Magicmeet TMIP session proposal ready for me???

    No worries.

    We are still tweaking the details and *just* starting to put the speaker list together.
